9 week update

Baby Mac is 9 weeks old. Hard to believe. I had him to the pediatrician (who happens to live in our neighborhood) today. He weighs 12 lbs. 1 oz. and is 22 3/4 inches long......Wow! He also happened to receive his first round of shots today as well. Mom is recovering and baby is fine.

Mac went to his first birthday party last week to celebrate his cousin Aisy's 6th birthday. Aaron's family had a shower for him last Saturday, and Mac went to his first memorial service for an elderly man at our church too. It's been another week of firsts for the little man.....well, when you are only 9 weeks old, most everything except eating and sleeping are firsts!!! LOL.

Happy Valentine's Day Everybody!!!

Happy Valentine's Day! We hope you get to spend time with the ones you love!

We are adjusting really well to being at our home! We have been keeping really busy too! Visiting with friends and going to appointments! We had the first of 3 post placement visits with our social worker to finalize Mac's adoption on Monday. It went really well. Our attorney in the south has been in touch with us as well. They have been working like crazy on our behalf. Normally, they say it takes about 6 months to finalize the process. We have a court date to finalize sooner! Our date with the judge is April 27th! This is actually almost 2 months earlier than we expected. We also found out that we do not even need to travel to the state we called home at the beginning of the year. We will do all of the legal things on the phone! Yeah!!! We are really excited about this.

We are also enjoying the day to day changes our little man is evolving into! He really is focusing on us and smiling like crazy! He loves being wrapped up in blankies and his pacifier. Aaron's co-workers "showered" us with tons of gifts! Thanks guys! You are so generous! We are so glad to have all of you as friends.

Here are the latest pictures of the "little pip(squeak)"

This series of pix started out great...
...but you can see that it went from fun to...

...panic...to....

SO ADORABLE!!!!!

Ali(purple) and Aisy(pink) and Mac and Aunt Jill and I went for a walk on our favorite walking trail on the 70 degree day yesterday. It was beautiful. The girls got to play on the playground and Mac slept in the wrap/carrier I put him in.

Our GIFT amongst the gifts from Aaron's co-workers!

Here Is How the Day Went!

The day ended with a visit from our neices, Ali(Pink) and Aisy(Brown) at our house. They just loved mothering Mac. They fed him, sang to him, carried him to his bassinet, covered him with blankets and put him to bed for us. Thanks Girls!!!

We attempted to get a picture with cousin Alayna. We ended up bribing her with peaches and angel food cake! I would have done the same thing, Sweetie!

Aunt Marlo and Uncle Paul. It was so nice to visit with them. We did tell Marlo we were coming home, so that she would be at Jon and Jayne's. It was really a cool bookend to this process too. Marlo was the first family member to find out about Baby Mac.

Alayna, as sweet as can be!!!

Grandma and Mac.....how special!

The science teacher in Aaron could not pass up this photo opportunity. The clouds were like this for what seemed like forever. Garden rows of clouds. I am missing the palm trees....it looks like a frozen tundra below.

Mac looked like this the entire flight. We had the pacifier and bottle ready to help him with the equilibrium issues babies usually encounter.....but we didn't need any of them. Way to go!

Going through security! I almost had a panic moment. Both of our bags needed to be examined. It ended up being a 5 ounce tube of toothpaste that put us in the suspicious bag check. We lost our toothpaste, but made it to our gate in time. The plane was about 15 minutes late. Thank goodness!

Mac and Mom saying goodbye for a brief time to the place we called home for almost 6 weeks!

How we got Jon, Aaron's dad.

SURPRISE!!!

This picture was taken just before we got the plane to head up north to the frozen tundra! We were granted a 30 day visitation leave from the sunny state we've been loving! We only told 3 people we were coming home to ensure an awesome surprise for Aaron's family. I will post more pictures later.Baby Mac and his Grandpa for one last photo before he took his first plane ride. His outfit has airplanes all over it. How appropriate. He slept through the entire flight. We are thinking he might be a good traveler. That would be a great thing.
