Just a day in the life of Baby Mac

Taking a boat ride with Papa and Dad.
This was taken at my latest appointment with my pediatrician.
This was Mac's first pediatrician! She was awesome!!! We will miss her very much. We tried to get her to move to our state, but she decided to stay where she is. We don't blame her. Thanks again, Dr. Elina!

Just after this picture was taken, Mac's lips started quivering.

We wanted to get as many photos of Mac in his Santa outfit as possible before the sunset and before he grew out of the outfit!

Mac tried to eat the beach grass.

Beach baby!

Thanks for taking the pictures dad!

Family pictures on the beach.

I am trying to blow a bubble! It's not working!

Getting my cardio workout in for the day. Ruthie, are you proud of me?

OOOHHHMMMM!!!!! I have found my center.

MAC UNWRAPPED!!!

More Fun in the Sun!

First Family Sunset!
Kim took this picture from our table.

We walked up the beach to meet Dad at a favorite beachfront spot for dinner.

Baby Mac still has a perfect score for sleeping when we have gone out to dinner.
We are truly relishing these moments.
We have been told that they will not last.

Mac ate before all of us.

SO cute!

Aaron was holding him and told me to get the camera. Mac's face was so funny.
We actually woke him up because we were laughing so loudly.

The funny man, Mac.

A great visit with Aunt Judy. It was a wonderful time.
We ate outside and tried to soak in the sunshine.

We also ate weird food. Aaron is eating alligator. It didn't taste all that bad.
It was slightly chewy and had an interesting taste, but not that bad.
I will try anything, but I do prefer chicken.

What else needs to be said about this?
Thanks Mimi and Jerry for the gifts!!!

1 month old today! Hip Hip Horray!

31 days ago, at this posting, I was about 30 minutes old. It has been a wonderful month. I am figuring out all kinds of things. I can turn my head when I am laying on my tummy. I also love grunting really loud. (Dad says it is better out than in!). My mom thinks I can laugh, but she doesn't realize yet that it is just reflexes, but I will add that to my tricks in about 3-4 weeks. I went to the Doctor today for my 4 week apointment, at least that is what my mom told me. I weigh 9 pounds and 11 ounces. I am now 21.6 inches long. I have been growin and eatin and sleepin a lot. I still prefer the nights to the bright daytime to be awake, but mom and dad are doing a great job "tryin" to get me on a schedule. HA HA HA!!! It is fun to think that I am 1/12 of a year old! I am looking forward to meeting you northern friends and family sometime soon. You have been waiting to meet mom and dad's kid for a long time, so a few more weeks shouldn't be that much harder. Keep being patient, legally we are still here, but the lawyers are trying to work out something for us. Dad found out for us that our state has always been the slowest to return the paperwork to allow us to come home. I am looking forward to being hugged by you all sometime, so until then, sing Happy Birthday to me! Love, Baby Mac
I am ready for the woods, Dad! What season is it?
This early morning hunting stuff is is for the birds!
Thanks for the outfit, Ali and Aisy, Phil and Jill!

The COLD south. Mac was ready for the cool weather.
Also, don't I look like a blue Shrek?

We took a road trip to visit Kim's Aunt Mimi and Uncle Jerry.
We went out to a wonderful dinner in celebration of Mac's 1 month birthday!
Of course, Mac slept through the entire event, even the live entertainment.

Splish, Splash, I was takin a bath, in the kitchen sink on a Monday night.

Quiet time with Dad.

Baby Mac got to meet his Uncle Andy. (Kim's step-brother). He was in town for a few days visiting his grandma, Josette. We watched the Steelers win! Andy just kept saying, "he's so small."

4 Weeks

It is really hard to believe that we have been parents for 4 weeks. Baby Mac continues to thrive and grow. He weighs over 9 pounds and is starting to sleep more soundly through the night, and by that I mean waking up only twice during the night and sleeping for 3-5 hours at a time. To say that he is on a schedule, really, what is that? He is playing the baby card and we are loving it. It really is hard to visualize our lives without him. I know, it sounds like such a cliche, yet it is so true.

We have had a constant string of visitors which has been really wonderful, especially since our paperwork still has NOT come through yet. Due to economic cutbacks, there is only 1 person processing all the paperwork in our home state. This has lengthened the "normal" stay in the birthmother's state with which adoptive parents are required to comply. The social workers are trying to pull some strings for us to get preliminary prior approval to get us to our home. They are thinking some time this week, but that is dependent on our state's laws. So, we are playing the waiting game again. This time, the baby watch we are on is looking at our son.

Family, Friends, and Surprizes.

Ruthie (Friend of the family) is holding Mac in the gift she bought him. It is a bath blanket with a hood that has a duck's beak. Kevin, Betty and Allie surprized us by coming to visit. We were harrassing them on the phone the day before to come and they lied to us (although Kevin claims he did not) blaming it on each other for why they could not come. Duane and Rochelle were in on it (shocker). Even Jill N. new. It felt strange being on the other end of this. Kim and I are usually on the planning end of this type of thing. later, Kim will tell exactly what happened when the Kevin and family showed up at the restaurant.
Smooches.

3 Weeks old. Can you believe it?

On the beach with Mac.

Mac: "Thank you for adopting me dad". Dad: "I love you Mac. Your Mom and I have waited a long time for you".

Thumbs up Papa, I'm feeling good.

"I'm going to get you for this Mom". Pouty face.

Stretch.

"Hi. Can't wait to meet all of you".

Where's Mac? He's wearing Macoflage. Don't you ever sleep? Mac answered: "Only during the day".

Nana nana na na, you can't make me sleep at night.

Pastor Duane and Rochelle visited for the day. They said, "Ha ha. We got to hold him before you did Patricia. And the only white stuff we are walking on is sand."

On the beach.

Mac is out. Do you like his Moose footed Jamies?
